One day, Seiou student Ren and the student council leader Saori were asked by the chairman Rin to find out any worries that the students have about the merger. They immediately enlisted the help of the Shiraba student council leader Yukie and began to ask the students of both schools.

You play as Ougi Ren, who teams up with student council presidents Tsukishima Saori and Kaburagi Yukie to tackle tough issues like dorm closures and club consolidations.

As Ren investigates student concerns, he discovers a wide range of personal problems—from the loss of beloved school clubs and the impending dormitory closure to shattered dreams and deep family issues. He offers his hand to help each girl, and before long, they end up living together as lovers. Together, they begin asking students from both schools about their worries. The concerns are numerous and deeply personal: the closure of the student dormitory, the elimination of smaller clubs like Akane's beach volleyball team, emotional attachment to their soon-to-be-lost school identities, and the fear of no longer being able to pursue their dreams. Family matters and personal struggles add further layers to the drama.
3. Unlike some of ensemble's other titles that involve crossdressing, kidnapping, magical girls, demons, and more outlandish premises, Koikata is a relatively straightforward school-life drama. The common route is notably short, introducing the merger as the central conflict but only allowing Ren to meet most heroines a couple of times before it ends. This brevity leaves players somewhat at a loss for who to choose first, having little idea of the heroines' personalities or the problems their routes might explore. Yet this simplicity is part of the game's charm—it focuses on character relationships and standard school-life drama rather than complex plot twists.
